Although I make my living as a graphic designer and brand strategist, I’ve been making up stories for as long as
I can remember: first to get myself out of trouble as a kid, then later writing them down to amuse myself and
my friends. It took me a while, however, before I got around to writing my first novel, The Quarter Boys.
A little about me. I was born and raised in the Boston area. I love Boston, but my favorite city to visit is New Orleans.
I love the people, the culture, the history, the architecture, and the pace of life. I also love Jack Daniels, chocolate,
country music, my husband, Brian, and our dog, Blue (not in that order). So the ultimate experience for me would be eating
chocolate while drinking Jack Daniels and listening to Miranda Lambert in New Orleans with Brian and Blue.
Prior to my career in design, I worked in PR and as a production artist for a book publisher: both useful training if you ever
decide to self-publish a book. For two years–in the guise of my alterego Spike Loveless–I wrote an “advice column”
for the humor website OnlineOffbeat.com. One of these days I hope to make those columns available on this site.
In addition to fiction, I also write and record music. These days it’s mostly country stuff. I hope to make some songs
available here some day, too.
I want to acknowledge CreateSpace, through whom I publish. I don’t know about their creative capabilities since I had
the advantage of being able to design and create the print files for my book myself, but their customer service and production
people have been great.
And a big thank you to Rick Bern for taking such a great shot of me for this site and the book cover. You can see Rick’s
